REConf (Requirements Engineering Conference) is Europe’s leading conference dedicated to Requirements Engineering. It brings together experts and practitioners to discuss and present new methods, trends, and tools through presentations, panel discussions, and workshops.
In 2026, REConf took place from 27–29 April under the theme “RE / The Conductor of Systems Engineering”.
Thank you very much for your enthusiastic participation. We greatly appreciated the many inspiring conversations and the passion everyone brought to the topic.

As early as REConf 2022, participants agreed on the hashtag #gerneperdu, reflecting the preference for an informal and approachable style of communication. For this reason, we also address you informally throughout the REConf website.
The next REConf, under the motto “Building Tomorrow”, will take place in Munich from 19–21 April 2027.
RE/ The Conductor of Systems Engineering
Today, complex systems are no longer developed within isolated disciplines, but are shaped by the interplay of diverse fields - ranging from mechanics and electronics to software, AI, and services. In this orchestra, Requirements Engineering increasingly takes on the role of the conductor: it structures the process, sets the tempo, and ensures that a coherent system ultimately emerges.
But what does it truly mean for Requirements Engineering to take center stage as the “conductor”? How can we foster innovation without sacrificing system coherence? And what methods, tools, and mindsets are needed for requirements to not merely document, but actively drive outcomes?
We have sought practical contributions and visionary approaches for REConf 2026 – and found them: the programme is now set and shows how Requirements Engineering, in combination with Systems Engineering, becomes a driver of innovation and a connecting force between ideas, customer needs and technical implementation.

Die REConf ist eine wunderbarer Quell von Inspiration in einem sehr sehr lockeren Rahmen. Die Verknüpfung von Programmpunkten mit Pausen und darin startenden Präsentationen hat mir gut gefallen. Denn die Präsentationen wurden wiederholt angeboten, und nahmen so den Druck, unbedingt zu bestimmten Zeitpunkten anwesend zu sein.
