We welcome submissions from industry, research, and practice — from experience reports and methodological insights to visionary impulses.

On the first day of REConf, Monday, 19 April 2027, half-day workshops will take place. These will be followed by the two main conference days on Tuesday and Wednesday, 20 and 21 April, featuring keynotes and presentations.

Further down this page, you will find a range of topic areas to help guide your submission. We warmly invite you to submit a contribution to the Call for Papers in one of the following subject areas.

The submission deadline is 9 November 2026.

Important notice

We kindly ask you to register your submission in ConfTool as early as possible – even if your contribution is not yet final. In this case, you may simply use “Placeholder – talk to follow” as the title.

Final abstracts and submission details can be updated or completed until 9 November 2026.

Our Programme Committee can review a maximum of 100 submissions within the available review period. Should the number of submissions exceed this limit, we may need to take the registration date into account after 9 November 2026. However, we will make every effort to include all submissions in the review process.

This track seeks contributions on the applications, opportunities, and limitations of AI in Requirements Engineering — from analysis and quality assurance to assistance systems, automation, and responsible use.

  • How is Artificial Intelligence fundamentally transforming Requirements Engineering?
  • How can requirements for AI systems be specified, validated, and monitored?
  • What opportunities do data-driven approaches offer for eliciting and prioritizing requirements?

We welcome contributions on sustainability requirements, conflicting objectives, evaluation models, regulatory drivers, and practical experience.

Successful systems require a robust connection between vision, requirements, and architecture. This track seeks contributions on how goals, stakeholder needs, and system requirements can be structured to yield sound architectural decisions. Topics of particular interest include traceability, modelling, systems thinking, and collaboration between Requirements Engineering and architecture.

Tool Ecosystems & Digital Engineering

Enabling End-to-End Engineering

Complex systems emerge from the interplay of people, methods, data, and tools. This track focuses on connected tool ecosystems, digital engineering processes, and seamless information flows. We seek contributions on toolchains, ALM/PLM integration, MBSE, automation, data quality, and practical experience with digital transformation in engineering.

  • How can end-to-end traceability from initial need through to operation be achieved?
  • What role do digital twins, simulation, and virtual validation play in RE?
  • How can heterogeneous tools and data sources be integrated?

Collaboration & Culture

Collaboration & Culture: Challenge

Good requirements emerge through dialogue. This track explores how collaboration, communication, and organisational culture shape the success of Requirements Engineering. We welcome contributions on stakeholder alignment, interdisciplinary teams, decision-making processes, conflict resolution, cultural change, and new forms of collaboration.

  • How is collaboration changing in interdisciplinary and distributed teams?
  • What new roles are emerging around Requirements Engineering?
  • How can organisations be empowered to work in a future-oriented way?
  • How can effective communication be achieved between stakeholders with different perspectives?
  • What formats promote shared understanding and co-creation?
  • How do you build a culture that supports learning, experimentation, and accountability?

In addition to the opportunity to give a presentation, you can also submit a workshop on one of the topics listed above.

Programme Committee

Each year, far more topics are submitted through the Call for Papers than can ultimately be included in the REConf programme. To ensure the quality, relevance, and objectivity of the selection process, we have established a Programme Committee. Once again this year, we have brought together a distinguished group of experts from academia, industry, consulting, large enterprises, and small and medium-sized businesses. Working collaboratively, the committee reviews all submissions received through the Call for Papers and selects those presentations that best meet the conference’s quality criteria and contribute to a diverse and valuable programme.
