Captain Jean-Luc Picard is one of the most outstanding Starfleet captains of the 24th century. He becomes famous as the captain of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) and USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E). During his career, the crew of the USS Enterprise-D manages to make numerous first contacts under his command, including with the non-peaceful Borg collective, which Picard abducts and assimilates in 2366. Under his Borg designation Locutus, he is forced to carry out an attack on Earth. Picard can later be freed from the clutches of the Borg. In 2371, he takes command of the USS Enterprise-E, which he holds until 2381, when he is promoted to admiral. After leading the largest auxiliary fleet in Starfleet history in 2384, he resigns his commission in 2386 and retires to France.
Finally, in 2399, he sets out independently of Starfleet on new adventures in connection with a Romulan conspiracy to find the home planet of androids created from a fractal of Data. In the process, he is killed by Irumodic Syndrome at the age of ninety-four. However, his consciousness is transferred into a golem.
